Last Elf on the Shelf Update

Whew....we made it! I must admit there were a couple nights that I was laying in bed and almost asleep when I remembered that I needed to move our Elf but he got moved every night! This was such a great experience for our family and I will cherish the time that I spent talking with the kids about our little Elf!

I missed a few nights with the pictures but here is what Snowball has been up to lately...

Playing Candyland

Sitting on the Shelf in my Son's room, he especially loved this one!

He brought us the supplies to make Christmas trees.

I don't want to know what he was up to when he was caught by the ever faithful Army guys....

And finally here he is with his goodbye letter, I got the idea from Leslie Miller

We can't wait for Snowball to come back again next year!

Felt Comes In Many Colors

And when you combine them all and spend many many many hours and late nights cutting it all up you end up with one FABULOUS Quiet Book! I am not kidding guys I out so many hours into this book and I absolutely love how it turned out! I have been wanting to make a book for a long time now and a couple months ago when the kids starting fighting over our other one I knew it was time! This book is for my daughter who is almost 17 months old, some of the pages are a little advanced for her but seeing as I was going to be putting so much time into this project I wanted it to be something that would last her a long time!

Elf on the Shelf Update

Whew! Snowball has been one busy little Elf these past few days! I wish I had half his energy ;)

He tried to sneak a few of Mom's favorite candy and got himself stuck!

He built a snowman for us to enjoy!

He tried to sneak a few pieces of the kid's Christmas Countdown's and hid in the stocking when he heard us wake up!

He even toilet papered our tree!!

This has been such a fun tradition to add to our family. Every morning my son comes running in my room (before my alarm even goes off) so excited to tell me what fun adventures Snowball had while we were all asleep. The other day I overheard him and his cute little friends, who also have Elves, chatting about all the crazy things these little guys do. His excitement makes it totally worth it!

Snowball's Crazy Antics

Here is what our Elf, Snowball, has been up to the past couple of days.

We woke up Friday morning to find that he had been playing video games while we were sleeping.

Saturday morning we found that he had discovered our dry erase markers and had some fun doodling on our pictures.

Sunday morning we were surprised to walk into the kitchen and see our cupboards covered in bows!

Here's to hoping that Snowball won't cause too much trouble tonight ;)

Aaaahhhh....

After a few days of some crazy stunts I think Snowball deserves a nice long hot bubble bath (and mom does too!)

Tell Me Where You Hid My Eggs

Once again Snowball got into a little mischief last night! I just love the stories that my son comes up with imagining what happened while he was asleep....totally makes it worth it!

And we're off...

To the races.
Oh that sneaky Snowball! Our little guy was completely fascinated by the fact that Snowball was able to sneak into his room and get his toys out of that noisy drawer without him waking up! He was laughing so hard that Buzz is winning and the fact that Rex was tipped over cause his legs are so short! I love listening to him imagine what was happening last night!

I'm Dreaming Of A Rustic Christmas

This year I wanted my tree to be all neutral colors and rustic. Mission accomplished!!! I absolutely love how it turned out. I had a lot of these things just around the house and made a few things to add to it.

Sprinkles....

Well Snowball made his first official trip back to the North Pole to report to the big man. The word on the street is he had some good things to report!

Our 5 year old was a little skeptical about this whole Elf thing but when he woke up and saw that he had indeed returned and was in a different spot he had no questions!!!

Meet Snowball...

Our Family received a special delivery straight from the North Pole this morning......

Our very own Elf, Snowball. This is our first year with an Elf and my kids were pretty excited about it!! We made sure to quickly place him in the tree after we all read the book together, we did not want him to lose his magic!

Community Fair Booth

Way back in June I was asked to decorate a Community Pride Booth at our County Fair. How they got my name & number I have NO idea.....but they did and I said yes, because I have a problem saying no. Anyway after I hung up the phone I did what any person would do, I called my best friend and told her that she was going to help, luckily she said yes!

We had to decorate a 4'x8' "room", walls and floor. The problem was they had just built a new building so no one knew what these "rooms" were going to look like. We didn't get to see them until about 4 days before the display had to be done.

Our idea for our booth was rustic farm, you see we live in farming town. Everywhere you look there are corn fields.... I love it! We had two main things that we wanted to incorporate, one was the GIANT Thatcher sign and the other was the Community Quilt that we made. The Thatcher sign is all hand stitched and then colored. Along the bottom there is a tractor with a farmer and his wife and then a bunch of animals, on the other end is a swing set with kids playing on it. All of the drawings on the bottom came from Twin Stitchers , I love all of their designs. That sign was definitely a work of art, many hours were spend working on that.

For The Cook

Today I have the perfect gift to share with you for someone who loves to cook. My Mother In Law loves to be in the kitchen so when it came time to pick a birthday present I knew just what to do. I don't know about you but I can always use more measuring cups & spoons! They are like socks....they just disappear!
We picked out some new baking items, grabbed a flour sack towel and a plain apron and set to work.

The perfect gift that is sure to put a smile on any grandma's face

College is Expensive But We Can Still Smile

Tuition...Text Books....School Supplies... They all add up. There is no denying that college is very expensive! My Husband is just starting his LAST semester of school and we can not wait to be done. Luckily we haven't had to buy any textbooks due to him doing online school. I know for many though it is a huge expense! That is where Campus Book Rentals comes into play. At Campus Book Rentals you can rent any textbook that you need for 40-90% off of bookstore prices, that could amount to a huge savings to you! They have flexible renting periods and free shipping both ways, they even let you highlight and mark in the book.

Maybe you have some old books laying around, why not turn those into cash?! Rent Back is another great resource, here is a snapshot of how it works.

Another great thing about Campus Book Rentals is that with each textbook that is rented they make a donation to Operation SmileOperation Smile and its more than 5,000 medical volunteers are working every day around the world to provide safe, effective and free cleft lip and cleft palate reconstructive surgery for children all over the world. We are an international medical humanitarian organization that works in over 60 countries that is dedicated to raising awareness of this life-threatening issue and providing lasting solutions. Every three minutes a child is born with a cleft. One in 10 of those children will die before their first birthday. The children who survive are often unable to eat, speak, socialize or smile. In some places, they are shunned and rejected. And in too many cases, their parents can't afford to give them the surgeries they need to live a productive life.

Save money and help a child in need, I can't think of a better combination!!!

I received compensation for this post but all opinions are my own.

Look Whoo's 1

Wow! Where did the time go? It seems like just yesterday this little girl was born and now she is 1!!! I have a slight obsession with owls so I knew that we needed to incorporate that into my little girl's first birthday party. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out, everything was perfect!

It all started with this adorable invite which I found on Pinterest. I think that the invite sets the tone for the whole party so I needed it to be perfect- time to call in the pros! My amazing cousin whipped this up off of a crappy screenshot that I had taken. She is super fast and has great prices, you can find her at Shandi Kimille Photography
