Subway Art...

Vintage Style!!
I was needing a change in my front room and I love all the vintage windows that I have seen around. I was browsing through an antique store and saw this huge window sitting there for 7 bucks, yes that's right,
7 bucks!! That my friends is an amazing deal so I snatched it right up knowing exactly what I was going to do. I simply added some vinyl lettering that describes our family and I left some extra space on purpose so  that I can add to it over time. I absolutely love how it turned out and I get so many compliments on it when people come into our house. I plan on changing the pictures that are on the sides to ones that are more candid and not posed but for now it makes me smile everytime I walk by it!

I just have to end this post with a shout out to my amazing dad and sister who last week for my birthday made me some amazing presents!!

My dad made me two of these beautiful tables and I absolutely love them!! He made some for my mom and when I saw them I begged him to make me some and I was so happy when they gave them to me!

My little sis is an amazing artist, I am really jealous of her!! She made me these two vases and I love that they are totally unique and that they fit so well in my house!!

Toy Story 3 Party

My son is obsessed with Toy Story 3, so when it came time to start planning the big party it was easy to pick a theme!
We ordered these adorable invitations form Etsy, I love how they turned out.

We have a pretty big family so we decided that this year we would have the party at the church across the street from our house, it was perfect. This is the table that was right by the door, we had a Guess how many Army Men are in the jar game, and some Subway Art. If it looks familiar it's because you have seen it over here at Oopsey Daisy, love her site!!
The cake with all of the Birthday Boy's favorite characters.
The whole table with cupcakes for the kids
Banner with all the characters, found here, I had the pictures printed at Staples and it was pretty cheap.
Happy 3rd Birthday Sign with Tissue Paper Pom-Poms
Table with Birthday Boy's collection of Pez Dispenser's
 Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head
The food table, we had Pizza Planet Pizza, Rocket boosters (bread sticks), Green Alien Salad, and Rocket Fuel (juice)
Besides the Guess how many Army Men are in the jar game, we had Pin the Badge on Woody. My lil sis is an incredible artist and so I asked her if she would draw me a big picture of Woody, yes you read that right, she free-handed this awesome picture!! I love it and it now is hanging in the newly decorated Toy Story room!

The Birthday Boy loved his party and kept telling me that his Toy Story 3 party was his favorite, definitely makes all the work worth it!!

Birthday Shirt Sneak Peek

We have a big day coming up at our house next week, and the birthday boy needed a shirt for the special day. We are going to be having a Toy Story 3 party so this shirt was perfect for the soon to be 3 year old. He definitely does not like his picture taken!
Until you bribe him with licorice, and then he will pull all sorts of funny faces.
Oh I just love this boy!
And then he will let you know when he is done!!

I can't wait to share all of the party details with you over the next week!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

I originally saw this idea over at Craftaholics Anonymous and I loved it! So I stashed it in my "To Do" file and knew that it would be perfect for my niece's 3rd birthday. It was so easy and pretty fast and I love how it turned out.
I also included a copy of the book and it was all packaged in a container for easy storage.
To get the template for my food I just googled the food and printed it out full size. I backed all the pieces with denim and used spray adhesive to attach it.

I had to make my caterpillar a girl, I couldn't resist (she even has pink sparkly lipstick on!!)
I have a few more pictures (like the butterfly) that I need to add but my laptop is not want to cooperate right now so I will get them up as soon as I can. I hope that the birthday girl liked it, I had fun making it!

CARS Birthday

First off I don't know what happened with these pictures and why they are all out of order and some are sideways, they were not like that when I uploaded them, so I am sorry that they are all funky. Anyway, my son LOVES the movie CARS, and so for his second birthday that was the theme that we went with.
For our party favors we made chocolate covered ores with sprinkles and attached a tag that said Thank You on it. I must admit I would much rather eat oreo's this way, they were delicious!
The food table. I kept this pretty simple because I knew all the food would cover any attempts to decorate so I just took a black tablecloth and yellow stripes of paper and made a road. I also found a picture of Flo's V8 Cafe and had it sitting on the table.
This is the wall behind the food table. I made the mini racing flags our of some leftover fabric from another project.
All the party favors ready to go.
I saw THIS idea one day when I was browsing for ideas for this party and I fell in love with them, they are so stinkin cute!! Although mine did not turn out near as cute as hers!!
The BIG Mater balloon that we just had to have.
The Birthday Boy's Special Seat!!
The sign that welcomed our guests to the party. It says "Welcome to Radiator Springs Gateway To Jaxon's Party." I was originally going to have it outside by the road but the weather changed those plans real fast.
The Birthday Boy's shirt that I made for him with all of his favorite characters.
The Birthday Banner!! I love how this project turned out and it was so super simple!! I just printed off the size of triangle that I wanted and then cut out my fabric. I zig-zaged along the edges of the fabric, cut the letters out of red fabric and used wonder under (my favorite thing ever!!!) to attach them to the triangles. To attach everything together I just used double fold bias tape and it worked perfectly!!!

We had Motoroil (grape kool-aid) and Antifreeze (lime Kool-aid) with our dinner.
Luigi's Leaning Tower of Tires, made from mini chocolate donuts.

Birthday Board

For my son's second birthday I wanted someway to display pictures of him from the past year, after racking my brain I ran across this. I did change a few things though, first off I used a scrap piece of 4x4 that I had from another project, and I used wooden skewers to hold my pictures up. I am planning on using this every year for his birthday so I made the pictures easy to take off. I love how it turned out and my son was so excited to see all the different pictures of himself, plus I love seeing how much he has changed over the past year.

CARS Birthday Sneak Peek

My little boy turned two today!! I can hardly believe it!! I am going to give you a sneak peek of the FUN party that we had today, so be on the lookout for the rest of the party (hopefully tomorrow) when I have a chance to catch up on some sleep!!

I think my very first try at Fondant turned out pretty darn good!!
