Crawl, Walk, Bike

Hey Guys! I had great intentions of having a full tutorial for this next post but life got in the way, my poor kids have been sick :( But I still have a super cute project to show you today! My best friend just recently had a baby boy and her husband is huge into motorcycles and racing! One night I was browsing the internet and came across this adorable onesie and I knew that I had to make it for them!

Using my Silhouette and some Heat Transfer Vinyl and Freezer paper I was able to make this pretty quickly. I would have loved to use HTV for the motorcycle as well but I didn't have any orange and I wanted to get it done. The motorcycle was done using freezer paper, if there is any interest I can do a tutorial on how to use it.
Here is a great link showing how to use HTV.

I just know that they are going to love it and I can't wait to see it on him!

Helping Children Smile Everyday

This is a compensated post but all opinions are my own.

My husband is within a month of finishing his Bachelors Degree (YAY!!!!) and I can't tell you how excited we both are! It has been a great experience but we are so ready to be done. For those of you who are still in school or may know someone in school I have a great company to tell you about today! Campus Book Rentals is a web based company that rents out textbooks, which we all know can be very expensive! Here are a few of the perks that go along with renting books....
-save 40-90% off of bookstore prices
-free shipping both ways
-can highlight in the textbooks
-flexible renting periods
-we donate to Operation Smile with each textbook rented

So what do you do with those books that you may have all ready bought....rent them back of course! Rent Back is a sister company to Campus Book Rentals and they will actually pay you for all those books that are just collecting dust!

Here is a video that will explain it a bit better.

As if all of this is not enough Campus Book Rentals is a company that firmly believes in giving back. With each textbook that is rented they donate a portion to Operation Smile. Operation Smile offers life changing surgery to children who are born with cleft lip or cleft palate. I can not imagine not being able to provide for my child and what a great blessing to those families that there are people out there who are willing and able to help them!  Every child deserves a lifetime of smiles!

Handwriting Pages & Reading Rockstars

My son responds to rewards.....of any type! He started Kindergarten this year and is loving it and doing so well (part of which is because he has an AMAZING teacher!). At his school they try to send home books for the kids to pass off but it takes a few days to get new books and he loves to read and is doing so well with it that I figured it was time to get something going on at home. Along with that his teacher has a goal for him to be able to write full sentences before the year is over. This project took all of 15 minutes and he has all ready got so much use out of it!

Simple Recipe Organization

I am a messy cook! And I like to have my recipes right there by me on the counter. And they usually get ruined...case in point...see that pink piece of paper? Yeah I have to call my mom every time I want to make it because I can't read half of the recipe!

Since it's a New Year and everyone has organization on the brain, and I just barely got myself  a Silhouette and a Laminator I thought I would combine the two for my next project!

Merry Christmas

I just want to take a minute and say Thank You to all of my readers! You guys are awesome and it's so fun for me to have this little corner of the world to share all of my projects with you guys!

I am going to be taking the next week or so to unplug and spend some quality time with my family! I will be back after the first of the year with some fun new projects! Until then I wish all of you and your families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Last Elf on the Shelf Update

Whew....we made it! I must admit there were a couple nights that I was laying in bed and almost asleep when I remembered that I needed to move our Elf but he got moved every night! This was such a great experience for our family and I will cherish the time that I spent talking with the kids about our little Elf!

I missed a few nights with the pictures but here is what Snowball has been up to lately...

Playing Candyland

Sitting on the Shelf in my Son's room, he especially loved this one!

He brought us the supplies to make Christmas trees.

I don't want to know what he was up to when he was caught by the ever faithful Army guys....

And finally here he is with his goodbye letter, I got the idea from Leslie Miller

We can't wait for Snowball to come back again next year!

Felt Comes In Many Colors

And when you combine them all and spend many many many hours and late nights cutting it all up you end up with one FABULOUS Quiet Book! I am not kidding guys I out so many hours into this book and I absolutely love how it turned out! I have been wanting to make a book for a long time now and a couple months ago when the kids starting fighting over our other one I knew it was time! This book is for my daughter who is almost 17 months old, some of the pages are a little advanced for her but seeing as I was going to be putting so much time into this project I wanted it to be something that would last her a long time!

Elf on the Shelf Update

Whew! Snowball has been one busy little Elf these past few days! I wish I had half his energy ;)

He tried to sneak a few of Mom's favorite candy and got himself stuck!

He built a snowman for us to enjoy!

He tried to sneak a few pieces of the kid's Christmas Countdown's and hid in the stocking when he heard us wake up!

He even toilet papered our tree!!

This has been such a fun tradition to add to our family. Every morning my son comes running in my room (before my alarm even goes off) so excited to tell me what fun adventures Snowball had while we were all asleep. The other day I overheard him and his cute little friends, who also have Elves, chatting about all the crazy things these little guys do. His excitement makes it totally worth it!
